Urban Lights

It's safe to associate LACMA to the statement "If it's not on Instagram, it didn't happen". Perhaps technically, but you've never really been to LA if you haven't been to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, more commonly known as LACMA, and with obligatory tourist shots of the Urban Lights. Cliché but true.

Owing to the large flock of desperate crowds from various origins, chances of getting that instagram-worthy photos are slim. So after five hopeful attempts and visits later, I finally have decent shots of these street lamps. This art installation on Wilshire Boulevard by Chris Burden consists of 202 restored lamp posts from the 20's and 30's, mostly in Southern California. His objective was to light up this desperate part of the metropolis which seems to be abandoned at night.

I got this lovely piece from my last vacation-slash-exam in Hawaii. After the submarine tour in Pearl Harbor, I really thought (and excuse my stupidity) these pearls were free. 'These' because I got two from the fresh oyster I opened. It probably costed me 2/5 of my total pocket money. Hahahah 🤦🏻‍♀️ oh well, at least I passed my board exam and got a Hawaiian keepsake along the way.

*On my next tour at the Dole Plantation in Wahiawa, Honolulu, I was literally shooked to see another set of Maui Divers Jewelry representatives. Ummmm no thanks.

LACMA is located on 5905 Wilshire Boulevard. The Urban Lights are literally erected along the street and it's free, but museum entry is a $25 admission for non-LA residents.
