Park City: Snowed In Ep 01

Segundo día of my trip to the Beehive State and I just couldn't get enough of the very many scenery Utah has to offer. One of these points of interest is a frozen attraction in the middle of nowhere. Okay, maybe not in the middle nowhere lol 😅

Located in Midway, in the county of Wasatch just 28 miles southeast of SLC, Ice Castles is a go-to on the list when visiting Utah during the winter season. It is intricately designed and built by professional artists using a repeated cycle of sprinkling water and attaching icicles ranging up to hundreds of thousands in number and weighing a staggering 25,000,000 pounds. I'm not even kidding. Basically, it is an interactive work of art featuring an ice throne, fountain, archways, towers, mazes, tubes, tunnels and activities such as sliding down a short slope made of guess what, ice. To keep visitors warm during their stay, they offer free hugs (obvs took advantage of it) and hot chocolates (recommended by the way), from which you get to keep the tumbler as souvenir.

Ice Castles Midway is at 700 Homestead Dr, Midway, UT 84049

Heading over to the Historic Main Street where most of the hustle and bustle of Park City takes place when visitors are catching a breath from skiing or snowboarding the steep slopes of mountain resorts.

And another dose of hot chocolate. This time, from Java Cow. I couldn't express enough how in love I am with their version of this hot drink. ¡Es muy rico!

Fun fact: On the side of the building is a Banksy artwork. It is actually preserved in a framed glass I believe, to avoid vandalism. Definitely one to check out.
